FAQs

Practical answers to common questions about choosing, using and maintaining our tools.

  1. How do I know whether a tool is suitable for my job?

Check the product description for its intended application, working range, dimensions, materials and included accessories. For pulling, clamping, threading or tightening tools, always compare the stated capacity with the size and material of the component you are working on. If you are unsure, contact us with the product name and details of your project before ordering.

  1. Are your tools supplied in metric or imperial sizes?

This varies by product. Some kits are metric, some are imperial, and others contain both measurement systems. The exact sizes included are listed on the relevant product page. Do not assume that a kit contains both unless this is specifically stated.

  1. What is included with each tool kit?

Each product page contains a list of the tools, accessories, adapters, sockets, mandrels or dies supplied with that kit. Only the items specifically listed as included form part of the product. Items used as props in lifestyle photographs are not included unless stated otherwise.

  1. Are these products suitable for professional use?

Many of our tools are suitable for regular workshop, maintenance, automotive and trade-related tasks. Suitability depends on the required working range, frequency of use and application. Always check the individual product specifications and never exceed the stated capacity or load limit.

  1. Can the tools also be used for home and DIY projects?

Yes. Many products are suitable for experienced DIY users as well as workshops and tradespeople. Certain jobs require technical knowledge, correct protective equipment or professional installation, so the user should always assess the task and follow the supplied instructions.

  1. How do I choose the correct torque wrench?

Check the drive size, torque range, overall length and the type of fastener being tightened. The required torque setting should come from the vehicle, component or equipment manufacturer. A torque wrench should not be used as a general breaker bar or for loosening seized fasteners.

  1. How do I select the right tap and die size?

Identify the required thread diameter, pitch and measurement system before choosing a tap or die. The new thread must match the intended fastener exactly. Use suitable cutting lubricant where appropriate, keep the tool correctly aligned and avoid applying excessive force.

  1. Which materials can the rivet nut setter be used with?

Compatibility depends on the rivet nut material, mandrel size, sheet thickness and the capacity of the individual tool. Check the product specifications before use. The correct mandrel must always be fitted securely and matched to the rivet nut thread.

  1. Are the storage cases included?

A storage or carry case is included only where it is shown and stated in the product description. Case layouts are designed to keep the main tools and included accessories organised. Always secure the tools in their correct positions before carrying the case.

  1. How should I look after my tools?

Wipe tools clean and dry after use, remove metal filings and store them in a dry location. Lightly lubricate moving joints, threads and adjustment mechanisms where appropriate. Keep precision tools protected from impact, moisture and extreme temperatures, and follow any product-specific maintenance instructions.

  1. Do torque wrenches require calibration?

Torque wrenches should be checked and calibrated at intervals appropriate to their frequency of use and the accuracy required. Avoid storing a mechanical click-type torque wrench under tension; return it to the manufacturer’s recommended storage setting after use. Calibration and accuracy information for a particular model will be stated on its product page where applicable.

  1. Can accessories from a different kit be used with these tools?

Only use accessories that match the tool’s specified size, thread, drive type, capacity and intended application. Similar-looking accessories are not necessarily compatible. Using an incorrect socket, mandrel, adapter or attachment may damage the tool or workpiece and could cause injury.
